John Edwards: settling in at the Coliseum
JOHN Edwards has joined the Oldham Coliseum as development manager.
John (32) from Didsbury, joined the Fairbottom Street theatre a couple of months ago after the management’s successful bid for funding from the Arts Council. He will promote philanthropic donations to the theatre and seek funding from trusts and foundations for the Coliseum’s work with local communities and business.
“Every pound that is raised is matched by the Arts Council,” he said. “These are exciting times for the Coliseum, with plans for a move to a new building, some brilliant upcoming productions and our work with the surrounding communities.”
Manchester-born John has experience of marketing and business development and brings a wealth of experience to Oldham. During his time as development manager at the Stockport Plaza theatre and heritage cinema he helped raise £750,000 from the North-West Development Agency towards the restoration of the Grade Two Art Deco building.
At Twycross Zoo, he worked with a team of consultants that sourced millions in support from the private sector.
Prior to joining the Coliseum he was employed by John Regan Associates on campaigns for wildlife charities seeking funding.
