AN empty manufacturing site in Hollinwood has been transformed into five trading units in a £1.5 million investment by a Saddleworth company.
The former EDM Ltd works — a 35,000 sq ft building vacated three years ago, was bought by developer Rockfield, part of the Johnson Group based in Gatehead Business Park, Delph.
Two companies in the group, architects Aegis Design Ltd and Johnson Construction Ltd, have completed the transformation.
Three of the seven units have been let, with Europarts Ltd taking a double 10,000 sq ft space and national group Screwfix and WED electrical wholesalers each taking 5,000 sq ft.
Jeremy Broadbent, chief executive of the Johnson Group, said: “This has been a three-year project. We had a number of options for the site, which is a perfect position alongside the M60.
“There is always interest in the units and I am confident they will soon be fully let.”
Three 5,000 sq ft units are still available.
