Family pair home in on new venture

FAMILY business: Mick (right) and Michael Burke

A FATHER and son partnership has established a business offering home furnishings, kitchenware, cookware, furniture and home electronics.

Zurleys.co.uk was set up just before Christmas by directors Michael and Mick Burke. The site is based in Oldham but distribution is from a warehouse in St Helens. The partners hope to bring the warehousing operation to Oldham “in the near future”.

Mick (55) played professional rugby league and represented Great Britain, though played most of his rugby for Widnes and later for Oldham Roughyeds. As wwell as the new company he runs an elderly home care business in the St Helens area.

Mick handles sales and business management and Michael looks after the website and marketing.

Michael (23) spent four months developing, designing and building the website.
