Kick-off for first business festival

MANCHESTER United legend Paul Scholes was set to kick off the Oldham Festival of Business today.
Oldham Business Leadership Group (OBLG) has put together a series of events until July 3, providing information, advice and discussion for local businesses.
Latics fan Scholes, who lives in Grasscroft, was launching the inaugral festival with an address at Mahdlo Youth Zone today.
Other speakers over the 15 days will include Bank of England monetary policy committee member Professor David Miles, and author and former Oldham Chamber of Commerce chief executive, Ed Stacey.
OBLG chairman Dave Benstead said: “This festival will give businesses of all sizes the chance to make connections, exchange new ideas, promote their products, create new partnerships and seek new sources of finance.
