Project will see 100 new jobs created

AN Oldham business has bought a century-old Bury mill for almost £1 million and intends to create 100 jobs.
The downside for the Oldham business community is that 30 jobs in Oldham, at the Devon Mill in Hathershaw which Baum Trading Ltd. also owns, will be transferred to Bury.
Baum Trading has operated its business from the Oldham site since 2003; 20 jobs will remain in the borough.
Importers of ready-made garments and fashion accessories, the directors of Baum Trading are working with Bury Council planners on the redevelopment of the Pilot Mill in Alfred Street, former home to Antler Luggage.
Baum plans to spend around £700,000 over the next couple of years on starter units and refurbishment.
The new owners hope that more than 100 people will be employed at the mill by 2016.
