Wiggett chiefs build for the future
Date published: 06 January 2015
OLDHAM-BASED Wiggett Construction is to develop the former Kirklees College campus in Huddersfield.
The Chadderton firm confirmed the deal to buy the 6.1 acre New North Road site which became vacant when the college moved to new premises in 2013.
Wiggett will submit a planning application — believed to be for housing, retail and leisure use known as “Trinity Central” — in the next few months and is looking to start work on the site later in 2015.
Group MD Phil Wiggett said he was keen to create a development to benefit the local community.
