A CAR repairs business has invested £200,000 in facilities and training to gain approval from 10 major car makers.
Delete a Dent, based at Windsor Place off Shaw Road, Oldham, now has approval from manufacturers including Kia, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Fiat and its sports car subsidiary Abarth.
Owner Alex Omeltschenko (44) said manufacturer approval is a higher standard than insurer-approval.
He said: “The public may be unaware that cars are often taken for insurance-related repairs to bodyshops which do not use genuine parts and do not carry out repairs to the higher manufacturers’ standards.
“With manufacturer-approval, we have to use certain parts and carry out repairs using manufacturers’ methods. Welding is important too. If welds are too weak or too strong, cars can crumple or fold in crashes. We have invested in the best welding technology for different types of metal. We also have specialist paint analysing equipment for paint repairs.”
Mr Omeltschenko said it took the business nine months to achieve its first approval from a manufacturer.
