A CAR dealership hit the road to showcase its electric-powered cars to town centre office staff.
Oldham’s West Way Nissan took two zero-emission cars to the Positive Steps offices on Union Street.
The event highlighted purchasing schemes backed by the Government to promote greater electric car ownership.
Staff at Positive Steps could ask questions about electric cars, go for test drives and learn more about the discount schemes.
Phil Behrens, dealer principal at West Way, said: “We are contacting businesses to see if employees could benefit from electric cars. We are looking at firms with 50 or more employees. This is the first workplace we have visited in Oldham.
“We want to pass on our knowledge about electric cars and meet people in a non-pressure environment.”
Under the scheme, local dealerships arrange visits to workplaces. Discounts are negotiated between dealerships and employees at each firm. The scheme is not subsidised by employers.
