Summer to remember for North West

NORTH WEST businesses added almost £2billion to their total market capitalisations over the summer months, according to business advisers Deloitte.
One company, Renold Plc, whose sites include Renold Gears at Milnrow, saw its value rise by 50 per cent to its current capitalisation of £168million. The firm makes industrial chains, gears and couplings and has benefited along with other listed companiues from favourable stock market conditions.
Deloitte’s latest North-West Share Index revealed a 6.7 per cent rise has taken the total value of regional companies to a record high of £29.1billion, underlining a growing appetite from investors.
