AN Oldham marketing and communications agency is celebrating its fifth year in business.
Owl Marketing was set up by Liz Lancashire and Deborah Wroe in late 2010 and has clients across the north of England and even France and Australia.
When the two former freelancers decided to set up a business together, they wanted to base it in their home borough of Oldham, rather than Manchester city centre.
Today their local clients include First Choice Homes Oldham, Oldham Libraries, Revolution Radio and Staff Recruitment.
Liz said: “Having spent most of our lives here, when the opportunity arose to set up in business together Oldham was the natural choice for us. This was partly because we felt Oldham had had too much negative press in the past and there were many positives that needed shouting about.”
Liz grew up in Grasscroft and went to Oldham Sixth Form College. Deborah, from Royton, attended Bluecoat School.
Liz added: “We can’t believe Owl Marketing is five years old already. We previously knew each other as freelancers but we didn’t expect that, a few years later, we’d be sharing a brand that we both care about so much.”
