EPS haulage, Middleton and Chadderton, joins the Pallet-Track network
A HAULAGE company based in Middleton with a site in Chadderton has joined a national network which supports independent logistics firms with facilities and services.
Express Parcel Services, based in Grimshaw Lane, Middleton, and Fields New Road, Chadderton, has joined the Pallet-Track network, which is made up of member-businesses from across the UK.
Founded in Middleton in 1971, family-owned Express Parcel Services, known as EPS, has enjoyed regular year-on-year growth. In addition to Middleton and Chadderton, it has opened other sites in West Yorkshire, the Midlands, Wales and Scotland. Its activities include warehousing, HGV distribution and home delivery services.
Jamie Taylor, a director at EPS, said: "Over the past 45 years, we have built up an excellent reputation for quality and flexibility which our clients have come to expect. Joining the Pallet-Track network as a shareholder member means that we are now able to offer an even greater variety of services and deliver unparalleled levels of customer care.
"We were particularly impressed by the Pallet-Track network's market-leading IT services. These allows for the full 'track-and-trace' of all products - from collection through to delivery."
Pallet-Track has a data-capture system which records delivery details and allows for electronic signatures to be taken at the point of delivery, providing independent haulage firms with a comprehensive logistics system to oversee all consignments, large and small.
Nigel Parkes, founder and managing director at Pallet-Track, which has its head site in the Midlands, said: "EPS is a haulage business with a rich history in the industry, which will complement the Pallet-Track network. EPS is our fifth new member this year and we have every intention of continuing to grow."
EPS was founded by current chairman and managing director Barrie Taylor. His sons Alistair Taylor, Jamie Taylor and Adam Taylor are also directors of the EPS group of companies.
