AN electrical parts and components supplier celebrated 30 years in business with breakfast butties for customers and a visit from the Mayor of Oldham.
Family-run Wholesale Electrical Factors welcomed Councillor Derek Heffernan to its premises at the Meridian Business Centre in Oldham's King Street.
WEF began supplying parts to trade customers in 1986 but it now has both commercial and domestic customers.
Owner John Cartwright founded the company to target trade electricians and large contractors. After working for another electrical company, he saw an opportunity to establish a new business in Oldham. Originally from Salford, he moved his family to Oldham to coincide with the new business.
He was soon joined by wife Diane, who oversees administration and finance. The firm now employs ten people and son Chris has also joined the team.
Mr Cartwright said: "We are delighted to be celebrating our 30th anniversary this year. There have been highs and lows in the economic roller-coaster, but we have always striven to provide excellent customer service with expert staff and value for money.
"We have been proud to be part of business in Oldham and hope other local businesses prosper too. We have a number of anniversary celebrations planned and thank our loyal and long-standing customers and staff."
