FIREFIGHTERS have called on residents to be vigilant after being called to several bin fires overnight including one at the junction between Abbey Hills Road and Alt Lane.
Offenders had also set fire to a pile of rubbish in an alley nearby and a third bin was set alight around the corner.
Oldham crew manager Lee Oldham said: "There were several bin fires and we were also called to a bonfire off Coleridge Road at around 8.30pm.
"We need people to be vigilant at this time of year and put wheelie bins away after they have been emptied as well as disposing of loose rubbish correctly.
