Jane Jolley
ONE of Oldham's oldest women has passed away.
Football fanatic Jane "Jenny" Jolley died on Saturday at the age of 101. Her funeral will be held at Oldham Crematorium, Hollinwood, on Wednesday at 11.30am.
She was dubbed "Jolley by name and jolly by nature" when she raised a glass to toast her 100th birthday.
Despite living in Kenwood Road, facing Oldham Athletic's SportdDirect.com Park, Jenny was a Manchester United fan. A great-great-aunt to seven, Jenny was born and brought up in Oldham to Mary and John William Jolley. She had a brother, John.
She worked at Ferranti's in Moston and then The Stationery Office in Broadway.
She received the Imperial Service Medal in 1975 for her work on the Queen's private papers during her time at The Stationery Office.
