Oldham Mumps car park in the snow
HOUSEHOLDS across Oldham woke up to a blanket of snow today as prolonged flurries of the dreaded white stuff caused hazardous conditions for early-morning commuters.
The Met Office issued a yellow warning of ice for the whole of the Greater Manchester region today as the wintry showers, which started overnight, threaten to continue.
Sleet and snow is expected to continue to fall throughout the day and during the course of tomorrow and may add to the dangerous conditions.
The Met Office is also predicting some sleet on Sunday which may add to slushy conditions.
Those travelling are advised to exercise caution throughout the weekend.
