OLDHAM Council leader Jean Stretton pledged to appeal to NatWest bosses over their decision to close their Royton branch.
Councillor James Larkin said: "The branch in Oldham is already very busy. Could the council join me in asking the bank to think again, particularly given the number of Oldham residents who rely on the branch and do not have online access?"

The Royton branch is set to shut its doors on June 20, 2017, with Uppermill's branch due to close seven days later.
NatWest pointed to the increased use of mobile and online transactions as the reason for the closures in a statement.
Councillor Stretton responded: "The council has been working hard to secure quality investment in Royton over the last few years. This investment is set to continue.
"I will write to NatWest setting these points out and asking them to reconsider this decision with the view to reopen this facility for the benefit of local residents."
