Driver flees from crash

A SUSPECTED drink-driver appears to have fled from the scene of a late-night car accident in Failsworth.

But ID documents were found inside a car, giving police a lead on who the driver or a passenger may have been.

Fire crews were called to Medlock Road, Woodhouses, around midnight on Friday night after a Volvo estate car was found smashed into a parked Audi.

Residents feared a fire was starting because of a smoky cloud but firefighters said this was dust being blown around by air bags.

Police are investigating.
