Evacuation after blaze

FIRE crews evacuated a street early this morning after a fire damaged several properties.
Hollins and Oldham fire fighters attended a fire which had started in the front bedroom of one of the terraced houses on Lune Street, Oldham, at about 1am.
The fire which destroyed the front bedroom, roof and neighbouring property's roof and affected three others was extinguished before it could spread along the street.
Four pumps and an aerial platform attended the blaze until it was quelled at about 5am. There were no casualties.
A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue spokesperson said they were lucky to stop the fire before it spread any further. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
