ARMED raiders have left workers in fear after they attempted to rob a Failsworth shop.
Police have put out an appeal for information after the incident on Ashton Road East at around 2.50pm on December 22.
Two people arrived at the shop on bicycles and went inside, leaving the bikes outside.
One of them demanded a staff member open the till while holding a kitchen knife.
The other stayed by the door, also holding a knife, but both were disturbed by another staff member who began to shout at the offenders.
They both fled the scene on their bikes down Roman Road.
The offenders are described as male, around 17-years-old and both of slim build. Both had local accents and wore dark clothing.
Duties
Det Con Ian Lloyd, of GMP's Oldham borough, said: "These individuals have not only targeted a small business but have also left its workers in fear as they carried out their duties.
"I am specifically appealing to anyone who saw two people riding pedal cycles prior to, or after, the robbery in the area.
"We are carrying out enquiries and need the public to come forward with any information they have."
Anyone with information should contact police on 0161-856 9033 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
