Tragedy response 'amazing'

OLDHAM residents have hit a £10,000 target to support a family grieving the loss of their younger daughter.
A Just Giving page was launched to provide a funeral service fitting for "dancing angel" Layla-Rose Ermenekli.
The six-year-old was taken to A&E with a high temperature but died in the early hours of Saturday, February 4, with what medics described as the "worst case of meningitis" they had seen.
Family friend Hannah Morrey, who danced with Layla-Rose, her older sister Melika, and mum Kirsty Ermenekli, set up the fundraising page to support them with household expenses at a time when Kirsty is self-employed and pregnant.
Hannah said: "We have done absolutely amazingly to reach £10,000. Everything raised will go to a special family to support them however they need."
