Searchers for man find body

POLICE searching for a missing man have found a body in a river in Tameside.
Michael Leadbetter was last seen on Sunday, February 26, near Longlands Mill on Queen Street in Mossley.
Since then, investigators have been carrying out extensive searches of the area in a quest to find the missing 57-year-old.
Officers confirmed yesterday that a body has been found although formal identification has not yet taken place.
Unexplained
The discovery was made just before 1.40pm in the River Tame, near to Spring Bank Lane.
A GMP spokesman said: "Police are treating the death as unexplained."
