MOOR TIPPING MISERY

FLY-tippers struck again last week when they dumped their waste on the A640 above Denshaw.
Sacks of rubble were left at Marsden Moor Heritage car park lay-by, just a week after four fridges were left strewn across the road just a couple of hundred yards away.
The bags appeared on Tuesday afternoon last week, just past the Oldham border, and Kirklees Council are working with the National Trust, who own the land, to find evidence of who is responsible.
A Kirklees Council Spokesperson said: "The council will work with the National Trust, who own the land, to investigate the fly-tipping. If any evidence is found that can help us identify the culprit then we will take appropriate action.
"Clearing waste on private land remains the responsibility of the landowner."
The latest fly-tipping comes just under a week after four fridges were dumped along Huddersfield Road.
On that occasion a Oldham Council officer spotted the fridges on his way into work and they were removed the same day.
