SPONSORED run . . . Finlay Mellor
AN eight-year-old proved he was no slouch when he completed a run from Greenfield to Diggle for Comic Relief.
Finlay Mellor (8), accompanied by his father Barry, ran from his home on Shaw Hall Close, Greenfield to his cousins house in Diggle and has so far raised £433.50.
Target
Clearly undaunted by the journey ahead, Finlay completed the run in an impressive 29 minutes, running past posters and banners his cousins had put up along the way.
Finlay, a Freizland Primary School pupil and keen footballer with Uppermill FC, is said to have a 'soft spot' for helping the homeless, who he often gives money to, and decided to help aid Comic Relief by doing something sporty.
Originally he had set himself a target to raise £100, but upon sharing his goal on social media, he has seen that target considerably surpassed.
You can still donate to Finlay's cause and anyone wishing to do so should visit my.rednoseday.com/sponsor/finlaymellor.
