METROLINK suffered delays across the entire network yesterday causing issues for commuters during the evening rush hour.
Transport for Greater Manchester said a technical failure of Metrolink's central operating systems at 5.15pm prevented staff in the Network Control Centre from being able to monitor tram movements or CCTV.
It also affected communications with passengers via platform passenger information displays.
Many commuters took to social media to complain about the disruption to their journeys, with some saying they had been delayed by up to 40 minutes.
