TWO men who were arrested in connection with a stabbing in Royton have been released under investigation.
The Chronicle reported how officers were called to a brawl in Royton Park on Friday night. A 34-year-old man was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary with serious stab wounds. He was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
A second man, aged 52, was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. Both men have been released under investigation while police inquiries continue. This new legislation now applies to all arrests made under the Policing and Crime Act 2017 whereby a person is released without bail.
