THE threat of an unauthorised car cruise at Hollinwood tram stop saw the park and ride closed yesterday evening.
The park and ride was shut down from 5.30pm yesterday as Greater Manchester Police and Metrolink worked together to deter the petrol heads.
A spokesman for Transport for Greater Manchester said they had heard via social media that an unauthorised car cruise was scheduled to take place at the tram stops car park.
Police ensured that there would be no repeat of a similar incident on April 16 which saw anti-social and dangerous driving at another unauthorised car cruise in the same location.
It is believed the organiser cancelled the event.
