A SWEET treat will raise vital funds during Deaf Awareness Week.
A team of audiologists in Oldham are putting on a Big Cake Bake to raise money and awareness for the National Deaf Children's Society.
Mash'aal Choudhary and her colleagues will join hundreds of other amateur bakers from up and down the country in cooking up a storm and selling cakes to their friends, family and colleagues.
The event takes place at the Oldham Integrated Care Centre on Wednesday.
As well as raising money for the National Deaf Children's Society, Oldham's audiologists will also be spreading the word about childhood deafness and highlighting the support available to the 45,000 deaf children in the UK.
Mash'aal said: "As audiologists we love using the free National Deaf Children's Society materials and we know parents really appreciate them. The information and support available online is fantastic so that's why we want to give back to a great charity."
Hanna Sturman, managing the event for the National Deaf Children's Society, said: "We're so grateful to Mash'aal and her team for putting on a Big Cake Bake. Most deaf children have hearing families with no experience of deafness, so specialist support is a real lifeline. Every penny raised by the Big Cake Bake will help us to improve the lives of deaf children and young people across the UK."
