A CHADDERTON school hatched a cracking spring project.
Reception youngsters at St Luke's Primary School took delivery of 12 eggs and an incubator and have been watching new life emerging both in class and at home via a web cam which was beamed through the website.
A total of nine fluffy chicks have hatched and been given names by the children including Shellvis, Roshell and Shelby.
A school spokesman said said: "This has been an amazing experience that the entire school has loved to observe and it has taught us so much about the life cycle of a chicken."
