Reservoir hit by fly-tipper

THE Dowry Reservoir is quite picturesque with blue water, rolling hills... and fly-tipped waste.
Perhaps not the latter, but that was what greeted passers-by on Wednesday.
Black bin bags and cardboard boxes full of rubbish were thoughtlessly left dumped at a lay-by next to the reservoir on Huddersfield Road near Denshaw.
Huddersfield Road seems to have become somewhat of a hotspot recently for fly-tippers who see it as a easy place to dump their waste.
Oldham Council have since attended the scene and removed the rubbish.
You can report fly-tipping or the dumping of waste via the online form on oldham.gov.uk/ or by calling 0161 770 2244.
