POLICE confirmed that the One Love Manchester concert and Carrick Testimonial in Manchester passed without cause for concern yesterday.
Event Commander, Chief Superintendent Stuart Ellison, said: "Today Greater Manchester has seen people enjoying two high-profile events, which I am pleased to say passed without any cause for concern.
"Throughout the day we have stood united, welcomed visitors from across the country and paid tribute to those who tragically lost their lives in the attack at Manchester Arena.
"Unfortunately, a small few attempted to disrupt today's proceedings due to their behaviour but were dealt with swiftly and effectively by officers to avoid any further disruption to football fans and concert-goers.
"My thanks goes to those who joined us at the events and remained patient as we carried out an increased number of searches to ensure everyone remained safe and enjoyed themselves.
"Finally, our thoughts remain with all those affected by the heartbreaking events of Monday, May 22."
