THEATRE lovers can head down under when Priscilla, Queen of the Desert comes to Oldham Coliseum.
The show, which runs from tomorrow until Saturday, is being produced by Congress Players in aid of The Christie Foundation.
Based on the Oscar-winning film, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert portrays the journey of three performers who hop on board a battered old bus named Priscilla and take their show to the outback.
Amid dazzling costumes and a non-stop parade of dance numbers and hits from the 70s and 80s, the trio find love, friendship and more than they hoped for.
The show features songs from Tina Turner, Cyndi Lauper and many more including I Will Survive, Hot Stuff, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, True Colours and I Love The Nightlife.
Tracy Hardman, a Congress Players Committee member, said: "We pick charities that are close to our hearts and we had lost quite a few people to cancer so we thought we would pick The Christie because it is relevant and meaningful to our group.
"They help so many people and we wanted to help them as well, it is local to us as a Oldham dramatics group."
She said: "We have done quite a lot of different shows over the years. This one we chose because it was a new show being released for the amateur groups and it is quite a funny, lively musical with good music.
"We have done lots of rehearsals, everyone is looking forward to it, we have got a good group."
Over the years Congress have donated more than £150,000 to charities in the North West including Dr Kershaw's, Francis House, Guide Dogs for the Blind, KidsCan, Ruebens Retreat and many others.
Tickets cost £17 full price or £15 concessions.
