Crews douse cooker blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire involving a gas cooker in Royton yesterday morning.
Two fire engines from Oldham and a crew from Chadderton were called to a bungalow on Brookfield Avenue shortly after 9.30am.
Firefighters used a foam extinguisher to bring the fire under control and were in attendance for 45 minutes.
One casualty was taken to hospital suffering from minor smoke inhalation.
