THE election results are in and it is a narrow Labour victory - at Hulme Grammar School at least.
Labour candidates Nevaeh Richardson from Year 7 and Fawaz Zaman from Year 10 topped the poll in the school's mock election.
They has a majority of 14 over Charlie Chadwick (Year 9) and Jonathan Taylor (Year 7) who polled 134 votes for the Conservatives.
UKIP were next with 22 votes followed by the Greens on 17 and the Liberal Democrats with 16.
Pupils in Years 5 to 13 took part in the election and a week of campaigning started off with a hustings.
The winners stood on a similar platform to that of the national party with 'for the many and not the few' as their slogan. Their priorities were better funding of the NHS, a softer Brexit and the nationalisation of energy, railway and water companies.
It remains to see if the result will be replicated at the general election on June 8.
