ARE you up for a walking challenge this summer?
Mahdlo Youth Zone is holding its Three Peaks of Saddleworth challenge for Saturday, July 8.
The route includes Pots and Pans, Indian's Head and Wharmton Hill, followed by a much-needed barbecue at Saddleworth Rangers Rugby Club.
It will be a tough day, but rewarded by amazing views across Saddleworth and beyond in aid of raising vital funds for the Egerton Street youth centre and the charity POINT (Parents of Oldham in Touch), which works with families and carers of young people with needs or disabilities.
Entry is £10 per walker and includes a T-shirt, picnic and refreshments. All money raised will be split between the two charities.
Claire Crossfield, Mahdlo's development manager, said: "We had a fantastic day last year doing a sponsored canal walk along the the old cotton trade routes from Oldham to Runcorn and this year, we wanted to get even more people on board and really celebrate the local area.
"Our chairman Terry Flanagan had the idea of Three Peaks of Saddleworth as the event will be supporting two Oldham charities.
"The walk is a chance to raise money to support local young people and their families, but also enjoy some of the incredible views across the borough.
"We have local businesses putting teams forward for the challenge and staff and volunteers from the two charities will also be taking part.
"We have kept registration to just £10 per walker, and we hope that lots of families and members of the local community can join us."
