A GATHERING of superheroes
SPIDERMAN, Batgirl and the Avengers showed even superheroes enjoy a run as they joined in with the Alexandra junior parkrun on Sunday.
Children aged four to 14 donned capes and masks to transform into their favourite superheroes to celebrate the event's first birthday.
The junior parkrun, at Alexandra Park, sees youngsters get involved with a fun 2K run every Sunday at 9am.
Volunteer Mark Casella said: "The first birthday event was a fantastic success with 62 spectacular and colourful finishers.
"It was great fun being involved with this and more importantly the children had a great amount of fun joining in with the fancy dress - and that included myself and the other volunteers."
New runners are always welcome to join in but must register online at www.parkrun.org/alexandra-junior
