SWIMMER Ella Bergin-Williams
A SWIMMER took the plunge to make miles of difference for Manchester's terror attack victims.
Oldham Aquatics' star Ella Bergin-Williams (15) swam an incredible 10,000 metres on Wednesday, raising more than £600 for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
The Newman College student completed the self-appointed challenge at Oldham Leisure Centre. Ella recently qualified for the English nationals in the 200m butterfly competition and is described by head coach Mark Lord as "very talented".
He said: "Ella heard friends and neighbours were running 10k for the We Love Manchester fund and said she couldn't manage that but she could swim 10k. Ella swims nine two-hour sessions a week, so it was always achievable but it's still a long way."
