RSPCA Oldham opens it's doors at new location Strinesdale Country Park, Holgate St, Waterhead..
THE new RSPCA Centre in Strinesdale is offering free health check ups for cats and dogs on June 26, 28 and 30 from 10am-2pm.
And the first five customers will receive a dog/cat vaccination for half price (£9).
No appointments are necessary at the Holgate Street centre (pictured) but to qualify, owners must be on a low income or be in receipt of means-tested benefits, working tax credits and live in the Oldham/Bury area.
The £1.7million centre opened its doors to the public in May during a viewing which allowed visitors to speak with staff, get a glimpse of the animal accommodation and view the operating theatre and new shop.
It is designed to reach out to the community to educate people on the care of animals and inform children by inviting classes from schools to give them a hands on experience with the animals.
Other plans include bringing in student vets to learn their trade as they work beside qualified vets. The project has been in action since Emmanuel Whittaker began work at the site in February last year.
