DEBRIS scattered across the M62 westbound carriageway near junction 22
AN OVERTURNED caravan that spilled debris across the M62 caused severe delays yesterday.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a lorry and a car pulling the caravan, just before the exit slip road at junction 22, Saddleworth, at around 10.35am.
No one was injured but there was a fuel spillage on the motorway and two Westbound lanes were closed as recovery work took place - with queues stretching back several miles. The lanes were reopened within four hours.
