WARNING . . . the cannisters which contain nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas
RESIDENTS have been urged to help Oldham police tackle an ongoing problem with nitrous oxide - otherwise known as laughing gas.
It comes after local PCSOs discovered empty silver nitrous oxide canisters in Daisy Nook car park.
Nitrous oxide is a depressant which slows down the brain's and body's responses. Using it can result in dizziness, hallucinations and even unconsciousness or death from lack of oxygen.
GMP Failsworth and Hollinwood called on residents to contact them confidentially with any information which might help.
They said via social media: "Once again we are asking for your help in tackling anti-social behaviour.
Selling
"If you are aware of any premises selling goods such as alcohol, cigarettes or nitrous oxide to teenagers and or young children, please pass us the information in confidence."
Contact officers via private message on Facebook or Twitter, or email oldhamborough@gmp.police.uk.
Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
