A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences and arson with intent to endanger life.
Emergency services were called to a loft fire involving a cannabis farm at a house on Honeywell Lane, Fitton Hill, last night.
It is understood there were around 20 plants in the loft of the home, where the fire was contained.
Neighbouring houses were evacuated by Hollins firefighters as a precautionary measure.
Watch manager Nick Griffin said: "We were called to a fire involving a cannabis farm in the loft space of a house.
"We used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a positive pressure fan to put the fire out."
Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called shortly after 8.30pm to reports of a fire on Honeywell Lane."
