THIS was the dramatic scene when an air amulance touched down in Oldham town centre yesterday.
The helicopter landed at the former Roscoe Mill site next to the Chronicle offices responding to a call that a man had been taken ill at the micro-flats where cladding was being removed.
The helicopter was heading back from Rochdale when it received the call to the site.
A GMP spokeswoman said: "Police were called by the ambulance service to reports that a man was unresponsive.
"Emergency services attended and the man was sadly pronounced dead.
"It is not believed that there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death."
