Invitation to join mayor

RESIDENTS have been invited to a borough-wide celebration in Glodwick tonight by the Mayor of Oldham.

The Mayor of Oldham Shadab Qumer opened up the invite to people of all faiths and all communities to join them.

The event, which celebrates his new role as Mayor for this year, will take place at the Pakistani Community Centre, in Marlborough Street, from 7pm.

Cllr Shadab said via a video: "All of Oldham is invited, regardless of faith, background, everybody is invited.

"And a big shout out to my friends who have organised it. Thank you."

Food and refreshments will be provided at the party.
