YOUNG Muslims took part in a morning clean-up which transformed the appearance of Werneth Park.
Oldham members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Manchester (AMYM) made the park, which borders Manchester Road and Frederick Street, litter free, "beautiful and bright."
The local environment service supported the event by collecting and filling bin bags.
Youth leader for AMYM North branch, Laiq Khan, said: "Littering is a massively expensive issue for the council and a blight on communities, so members of AMYM held the litter pick to help our local park look beautiful.
"We tried to do our bit to make our areas look beautiful. Young Ahmadi Muslims took advantage of the sunny conditions to work together.
"Cleanliness integral to the Islamic faith, and as peace-loving British Muslims we will continue to do all we can to serve our local community in the best manner possible."
