GORGEOUS gowns, suave suits and even a Phantom of the Opera mask ensured students from New Bridge School looked their best for their prom night.

Making grand entrances in limousines, Bentleys and sports cars, students arrived at the Roman Road school ready to celebrate years of hard work.

Proud parents watched as the students smiled and met up with friends for their prom.

For one student, Kayleigh Heath, the event was particularly special after family and friends rallied around to give her the prom night of her dreams.

Dressed in a stunning green gown, Kayleigh, who has been diagnosed with dyspraxia and is registered blind due to the condition nystagmus (constant uncontrolled movement of the eyes), arrived at prom in a limo and even had the chance to attend a nightclub for the first time thanks to Envy in Oldham town centre.

Kayleigh's mum Karen said: "We wanted to make the day as special as possible for Kayleigh and it coincided with her 19th birthday just a few days later.

"I told her we'd be going to prom on a bus, but arranged a limo to pick her up and she had her hair and make-up specially done for her.

"She's always wanted to go clubbing, but I wasn't so sure.

"But after getting in touch with Envy, they pulled out all the stops for her, letting us arrive an hour before it opened so she could enjoy the experience.

"They had a balloon for her and let us have free run of the club, playing a CD of her favourite songs and letting her get up on stage for a dance. She said she felt like Cinderella. Everyone has been so kind and generous and has given her a night to remember."
