WALKERS pulled on their fancy frocks and danced the night away for the first ever Glow Walk in aid of Dr Kershaw's Hospice.

A total of 77 fundraisers dressed in luminous colours and armed themselves with glow bands, glow sticks and other glow jewellery for the fun night-time event.

Fitness instructor Janine Robinson led participants in a 20-minute warm up session with music to help them prepare for either a six-mile or 10-mile walk.

After setting off at 10pm, the first six-mile walker made it back in just under two hours while the fastest 10-mile walkers managed the route in two hours and 25 minutes.

Volunteers from the hospice cycled around the route to keep walkers safe, while The Dancing Unicorn was on hand to cover fundraisers in glitter face paint.

To carry on the celebrations, some of the walkers made their way to Liquid and Envy Nightclub where they were invited to keep on dancing in their trainers.

Success

Communications and events fundraiser Vicky Stackhouse said: "We would like to say a massive thank-you to everyone involved and to everyone who helped us make our first Glow Walk a huge success.

"It was brilliant to see everyone get involved and into the spirit of things with their fancy dress and glow attire, the feedback we have received from all our walkers was amazing.

"It was also lovely to see people make friends and stick together as they were walking along the route."
