Murder inquiry ongoing

A MAN arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died in Middleton has been released under investigation.
Police were called to reports that a woman had died at a house on Bonscale Crescent at around 11.20am yesterday.
Emergency services attended and found a woman with serious injuries. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, she could not be resuscitated.
A 69-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman's death and formal identification is yet to take place.
Detective Inspector Adrian Gallagher of GMP's Rochdale Borough, said: "I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the victim's loved ones at this difficult time, who are being supported by our specially trained officers.
"Although we have made an arrest, our investigation into how this woman lost her life, continues.
"As this incident happened in a residential area, I'm asking for anyone who noticed something out of the ordinary, or heard signs of a disturbance, to please come forward."
