Chance to shape future of rural communities

FANCY putting the South Pennines on the map? Then rural regeneration company, Pennine Prospects, is on the lookout for people just like you.
The company is looking for enthusiastic Oldhamers to start a local action group to help shape a proposed programme which aims to transform the rural communities across the South Pennines. The project, the South Pennine Leader programme, aims to attract funding of up to £1.8 million from the EU and the UK Government over the next six years to regenerate an area which includes the rural pockets of Oldham, Rochdale, Calderdale and Kirklees.
Oldham’s cabinet member for regeneration, Councillor Mohib Uddin, said: “This is a great opportunity for local people to get involved in an exciting project which will help shape the rural areas in and around the borough. I would like to urge those who have a passion and know their rural areas well to come forward and apply.”
Contact Pennine Prospects at www.pennineprospects.co.uk, or Imogen Fuller at Oldham Council’s regeneration departmen on: 0161-770 4165.
All applications must be submitted by Thursday.
