Lakeland walk for charity
Date published: 04 July 2008
Walkers are being urged to put their best feet forward in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The Devoted to Life sponsored walk is around Lake Windermere on July 20.
The nine-mile route takes walkers along part of the classic Dales Way.
Hannah Taylor, Marie Curie Cancer Care’s local fund-raising representative, said: “Many of our walkers take part to remember a friend or loved one, while others are looking for a personal challenge or simply want to enjoy a good day’s walking in the well known Lake District hot spot.
“It’s one of our more challenging walks and perfect for any regular walker.
“Whatever your motivation, you can be sure that you’ll be helping to make a real difference to the lives of local cancer patients and their families.”
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides nursing for around half of all cancer patients who die at home.
The care and support given to people by Marie Curie Nurses is provided free to patients and their families.
All Marie Curie Cancer Care Devoted to Life Walks are sponsored by Next and all walkers receive a Devoted to Life T-shirt.
To take part, call Hannah on 0161-255 2809 or 07798-638 127. There is a £10 registration fee.
