BEES, honeycombs and flowers are brightening up Hathershaw North as children’s ideas are transformed into eye-catching designs.
Pupils from Broadfield School, Hathershaw, worked with Green Monster Art on colourful and exciting designs for gates, pavement art and signs to brighten up the area as part of the spatial masterplan improvements.
The designs for new gates have now become a reality and the gates featuring ornately crafted bees, flowers and honey pots have been installed to make the entrance to the school more prominent and attractive.
The youngsters were inspired to come up with the ideas for bees, honey and flowers by turning the clock back.
History has it that people used to come from far afield to get what was known as the best sweet honey from Honeywell Lane, Oldham.
