DINERS at the Royal Oldham Hospital took a culinary trip down memory lane to celebrate the 60th birthday of the NHS.
Cafe Royal is serving up poached salmon with bubble and squeak — a popular dish in 1948.
Anniversary cakes were given to patients and displays have been put up informing visitors of what life was like six decades ago.
The hospital is also challenging Oldhamers to do their bit for charity with the 60 for 60 campaign.
Schools and businesses are being encouraged to raise 60p, £6 or £60 for the hospital.
